      At a time, access to allopathic medical facilities and medical care was practically non-existent in the villages of Kanyakumari and neighboring districts, Late. Dr. D. James, about 75 years ago, started a rural hospital and provided medical care to the poor and needy people irrespective of caste, creed and religion with the deepest sense of concern, love and responsibility. His life was a life of pure sacrifice.
